Large-scale rallies in downtown Seoul expected to cause traffic congestion on Saturday

On Saturday, the 30th, various rallies and marches are expected to cause traffic congestion in downtown Seoul. According to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on the 29th, rallies and marches organized by groups like the Veto Emergency Action will take place around Sejong-daero, Sajik-ro, and Namdaemun-ro. The police have advised using public transportation, such as the subway, if possible.

In the morning, stages for the rallies will be set up on Sejong-daero and Sajik-ro, and in the afternoon, large-scale rallies will take place at the same locations, followed by marches along Namdaemun-ro and Toegye-ro.

The police will operate variable traffic lanes on the opposite side of the rally locations on Sejong-daero and Sajik-ro, and during the marches, they will operate variable lanes on the opposite side of march routes along Ujeongguk-ro and Namdaemun-ro.

Additionally, traffic will be controlled for vehicles heading from Euljiro 1-ga intersection to Euljiro 2-ga intersection and from Toegye-ro 2-ga to Toegye-ro 1-ga, redirecting vehicles to Samil-daero and Sopa-ro.

Despite the rallies, police plan to maintain traffic flow for wide-area buses using Sejong-daero and Sajik-ro and will deploy about 140 traffic police officers around the rally areas to manage vehicle detours and traffic control.

Detailed traffic information can be checked via the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s traffic information hotline, their traffic information center website, and KakaoTalk.
