Han Dong-hoon faces a significant decision regarding the ‘Kim Geon-hee Special Prosecutor’?… Han clarifies, “It’s not something I said.”

**Kim Geon-hee Special Prosecutor Vote: “I Won’t Discuss That Issue Separately Right Now”**

Han Dong-hoon, the leader of the People Power Party, stated on the morning of the 28th during a Supreme Council meeting at the National Assembly.

A report recently emerged saying that Han hinted to close associates he might make a “serious decision” regarding the special prosecutor bill for Kim Geon-hee, the First Lady. However, Han denied making such remarks.

According to a report from the Hankook Ilbo, Han allegedly remarked in conversations with his close allies about the controversy on the party members’ forum, suspecting it to be “an organized move from Yongsan (the Presidential Office) to oust me,” and suggesting that the special prosecutor bill could be a countermeasure against unfair shake-ups in party leadership. This implies that some of his allies might consider supporting the bill in the vote scheduled for December 10th.

Upon being questioned by reporters at the party headquarters, Han insisted, “I did not say that.”

Regarding comments from pro-Yoon faction lawmaker Kweon Seong-dong, who said linking the forum controversy with the special prosecutor issue would cause a huge backlash and constitute a clear breach of conduct, Han replied, “That’s his opinion. I don’t need to comment on it.”

When asked if his position on maintaining a united front against the special prosecutor bill remains unchanged, Han reiterated, “That question has been repeated, and I’ll refer to what I said a few days ago.” Previously, Han had remarked that the Democratic Party shelving the vote targeting ruling party defectors won’t dictate People’s Power Party’s politics.

However, when asked about the possibility of not rounding up votes on the special prosecutor bill, Han stated, “I won’t discuss that issue separately right now.”

The controversy over the party members’ forum posts criticizing President Yoon Suk-yeol, allegedly penned by people with the same name as Han’s family members, has intensified the conflict between Han’s allies and the pro-Yoon faction. On the 25th, pro-Yoon Supreme Council member Kim Min-jeon and Han exchanged words during an open Supreme Council meeting regarding this issue.
