As heavy snow continued to fall in Seoul for the second day, power outages and water supply disruptions have occurred in some areas.

According to Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) on the 28th, a power outage occurred at 6:52 a.m. in the Yeomni-dong, Gongdeok-dong, and Seongsan-dong areas of Mapo-gu, affecting a total of 750 households.

Among them, 68 households in Gongdeok-dong are still experiencing a power outage, and KEPCO is working on restoring power. It was investigated that trees weighed down by the snow fell onto power poles, causing the outage.

In Changcheon-dong, Mapo-gu, a tree fell due to the heavy snow, severing the electrical lines connected to the water supply. This led to a water supply outage affecting 270 households in Changcheon-dong from 3 a.m. to about 7:30 a.m. that day. The situation has since been restored.

A KEPCO representative stated, “We are working to restore power as quickly as possible.”
