Prosecutors Notify Former First Lady Kim Jung-sook to Appear for Questioning… “Unreasonable Investigation” Protest

“[KBS Jeonju] When it was revealed that the Jeonju District Prosecutors’ Office notified former President Moon Jae-in’s wife, Kim Jung-sook, to appear as a witness next week, the Democratic Party criticized it as an excessive investigation aimed at overcoming a regime crisis.

The Democratic Party’s Committee for Counteracting Political Repression by the Previous Government held a press conference at the National Assembly, stating that it was a unilateral notice to a witness who has no obligation to attend, also mentioning the fairness of the investigation concerning Kim Gun-hee.

The prosecution is investigating allegations such as preferential hiring at an airline involving the ex-husband of Moon’s daughter, Da-hye, and abuse of authority by the previous government’s Blue House. Da-hye has previously not complied with three requests to appear as a witness.”
