Gyeonggi Provincial Government, KEPCO, and BGF Retail have chosen… Hancom accelerates AI pilot projects with enterprises and institutions.

After gathering on-site feedback and making improvements, Hangeul and Computer (Hancom) plans to officially launch major AI products, including Hancom Assistant, by the end of the year. Following this, they aim to expand their business into a variety of industrial fields.

Hancom is accelerating the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) for public institutions and private companies, positioning their AI solutions to enhance work efficiency. They intend to actively incorporate market feedback and subsequently release enhanced official AI products by the end of the year.

The company has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) regarding digital transformation with key institutions and enterprises including Gyeonggi Provincial Government, Korea Electric Power Corporation, and BGF Retail. They are also conducting Proof of Concept (PoC) projects with dozens of entities.

A Hancom representative stated that their PoC endeavors are focused on customizing Hancom’s AI products, such as Hancom Assistant, Hancompedia, and Hancom Dataloader, to match the specific characteristics of each organization. These efforts have shown significant results in boosting work efficiency, reducing resources, and improving data quality.

In one ongoing PoC with a retail company, Hancompedia has drastically improved the operational efficiency between sales managers and merchandise planners. By automating the Q&A process previously conducted through bulletin boards, repetitive tasks have decreased, and real-time feedback has become possible.

A Hancom official noted that a public agency has utilized Hancompedia to transform its process for checking personnel and labor regulations and work manuals. When employees ask questions in natural language, the AI instantly provides answers based on the relevant regulations. This has been particularly helpful for new employees adapting to their roles. Hancompedia uses Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technology to generate responses based solely on the customer’s internal documents, preventing hallucinations.

Additionally, Hancom reported that their customers have recognized that Hancompedia and Hancom Assistant enable new employees to autonomously learn work manuals and efficiently carry out fundamental tasks like report writing.

A company representative emphasized that by reducing repetitive tasks and pursuing process efficiency through their AI products, Hancom is contributing to accelerating digital transformation by innovating actual work environments. Successful PoC projects are expected to transition from pilot to official projects, resulting in increased revenue. Hancom also mentioned that incorporating operational feedback aids in further product refinement.

Hancom plans to formally launch all major AI products by the end of the year and aims to expand into various industrial fields, focusing on their AI unified brand, Hancom Brain (BRAIN).

Hancom CEO Kim Yeon-soo stated, “We will continue to increase collaboration with more institutions and companies using our unique AI products. We aim to contribute to public service innovation and corporate digital transformation, thereby solidifying our market position.”
