‘(Seoul=News1) Reporter Kim Min-seok = Wemade (112040) announced on the 5th that its consolidated operating profit for the third quarter increased by 14.1% compared to the same period last year, reaching KRW 51.8 billion.
During the same period, consolidated sales were KRW 214.4 billion, a 9% decrease from the previous year, and net profit was KRW 35.9 billion, down 12.8% year-on-year.
Compared to the previous quarter, sales increased by 25%, and the company returned to operating profits.
The company explained that sales from licensing of the ‘Mir’ IP (intellectual property) drove the performance.
Currently, Wemade is developing a new MMORPG called ‘Legend of Ymir’. Legend of Ymir is an MMORPG set against the backdrop of Norse mythology, featuring mystical atmospheres expressed in realistic graphics.
Preparation is underway for the Chinese services of ‘Mir M’ and ‘Mir 4’.
Mir M has completed the acquisition of publication rights and has also signed a publishing contract with China’s The9 company. Mir 4 has signed a publishing contract with China’s 37Games and has started working on obtaining publication rights.
The company is also focusing on expanding the WEMIX ecosystem, including ‘WEMIX Play’ and ‘WEMIX Pay’. Recently, the blockchain game platform WEMIX Play has been revamped to be community-centered.
A Wemade representative stated, “We’re planning to enhance the usability of WEMIX by preparing features like sponsorship functions and funding projects.”
Wemade Max recorded an operating loss of KRW 2.1 billion and a net loss of KRW 4.8 billion in the third quarter, transitioning to a deficit. Its sales were KRW 19 billion, up 3.1% from the same period last year.
