“On November 5th (local time), CNN conducted an early exit poll regarding the presidential candidates, and 46% of the respondents held a favorable view of Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.
The favorable view of Republican candidate Donald Trump was at 42%.
The survey included 18,354 respondents with a margin of error of ±2 percentage points.
Approximately 8% of respondents had a negative view of both candidates, higher than in 2020 but less than the 18% in 2016.
Almost half of the respondents felt Trump was too extreme. 8% said both candidates were extreme, while 5% said neither was.
About half of the respondents said they would feel optimistic or excited if Harris won, while the remainder expressed concern or fear.
CNN’s exit poll included interviews with thousands of voters who voted on election day, as well as early and absentee voters.
CNN emphasized that the poll is an estimate, not an exact measurement, due to its margin of error.
This survey was conducted by Edison Research on behalf of the national election pool through face-to-face, telephone, and online methods.”
