(Seoul = Yonhap News) Song Young-in PD = The Netflix series ‘Squid Game’ Season 2 received a standing ovation during its first overseas promotion.
Director Hwang Dong-hyuk, Lee Jung-jae, and Wi Ha-jun started their overseas promotional activities by attending the ‘Lucca Comics & Games Festival’, which opened in Lucca, Italy, on Thursday, October 31st local time.
The three, who attended the pink carpet event, responded to the thousands of fans gathered in the square and explained the theme and characters of Season 2 through an interview.
Director Hwang Dong-hyuk mentioned the theme of Season 2, saying, “You can say ‘money can’t buy love’.” Lee Jung-jae, who plays the role of ‘Seong Gi-hun’, hinted that there will be personality differences from Season 1.
Director Hwang also talked about Season 3, stating that the post-production work is underway and it will be available soon.
During a press conference held subsequently, a teaser trailer for Season 2 was released, eliciting cheers and standing ovations from the audience.
