Hive reported its annual revenue of 2 trillion KRW as 2.1 billion KRW, resulting in underpaying the plastic waste surcharge by approximately 12 million KRW. According to national audit data published by Park Jung, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea on the National Assembly’s Environment and Labor Committee, from the Korea Environment Corporation, Hive entered its previous year’s revenue as 2.17809 billion KRW in the corporation’s system. However, Hive’s financial statement for 2023 shows a revenue of about 2.1781 trillion KRW. It should have had three more zeros in the system, but they were omitted, effectively resulting in an underreported revenue.
