The Democratic Party stated, “The public is not demanding a resolution through a special inspector regarding Kim’s allegations.”

Park Chan-dae, the floor leader of the Democratic Party, stated that if Han Dong-hoon, the leader of the People Power Party, opposes a special investigation into Kim Kun-hee, he will be seen as cowardly.

At the Democratic Party’s policy meeting on national audits today (the 24th), Park mentioned, “Chairman Han said that the demands of the people regarding Mrs. Kim should be addressed.”

He continued, “The consistent demand from the public concerning Mrs. Kim is to undergo a special investigation. With crime allegations piling up like a mountain, the public demands an investigation to uncover the truth and appropriate punishment if there are any wrongdoings.”

He further emphasized, “The public is not asking for a mere apology, a casual suspension of activities, some superficial personnel reshuffling, or solving the issue by simply appointing a special inspector. There is no way to satisfy the public’s demands without a special investigation into Mrs. Kim.”

He added, “I urge Chairman Han to stop avoiding the issue and show determination in front of the citizens with actions. The Democratic Party will continue to uncover the truth behind Mrs. Kim’s gate even after the national audit concludes and will ensure that the special investigation into Mrs. Kim is carried out.”

Additionally, Park criticized President Yoon Suk-yeol’s remarks made yesterday (the 23rd) during his visit to Beomeosa, where he said, “Even if stones are thrown at me, I will press on despite the various difficult circumstances.” Park commented, “It’s frustrating.”

He retorted, “Isn’t this an outright dismissal of the people’s command to resolve the numerous suspicions surrounding Mrs. Kim, hinting at continuing the reckless shielding of her?”

Furthermore, he criticized, “When the public throws stones, the normal stance of a president should be to reflect on why those stones are being thrown and correct wrongdoings. Claiming that all my actions are right while everyone else is wrong, despite widespread criticism, is the typical attitude of a tyrant and a dictator.”

He concluded by warning, “A president who abandons the people to protect a spouse facing all kinds of criminal allegations will inevitably be abandoned by the people. President Yoon should definitely look into history books to learn how tyrants and dictators who defied the public’s will ended up.”
