[SpoTV News Reporter Baek Ji-eun] There has been debate about HaHa and Byul mentioning HaHa’s ex-girlfriend, Ahn Hye-kyung.
On the 21st, a video titled “HaHa, Byul, Skull: Let’s Go See the Stars~ A Real Friends Triangle(?) in Jeju” was released on the YouTube channel “Jjanhyung Shin Dong-yup,” featuring HaHa, Byul, and Skull as guests.
During the video, HaHa and Byul caught attention by mentioning HaHa’s ex-girlfriend, broadcaster Ahn Hye-kyung.
HaHa stated, “Today we’re not holding back. We can even mention ex-girlfriends. We’re cool with it. Even Lee So-ra appeared. I honestly watched that video with tears,” he said. Byul added, “I was watching the video with HaHa and said ‘Honey, let’s do that.’ HaHa’s YouTube channel is a bit sluggish now. Shin Dong-yup and Lee So-ra were cool. I felt that was a mature thing to do.”
Shin Dong-yup joked, saying, “Byul is really cool. There was a rumor that HaHa doesn’t pay attention to the weather after getting married,” causing laughter.
Shin Dong-yup had made a splash last year when he appeared on a show with his ex-girlfriend Lee So-ra after 20 years. It was also revealed that Shin Dong-yup’s wife, Sun Hye-yoon PD, who was a fan of Lee So-ra in the past, agreed to their appearance, surprising everyone.
HaHa and Byul were also impressed by that broadcast. Many fans praised Byul, saying, “Byul is truly cool” and “real couple vibes.”
However, separate from HaHa and Byul’s personal reflections, there was criticism that mentioning Ahn Hye-kyung was careless. HaHa and Ahn Hye-kyung were publicly dating in 2006 but broke up in 2009. HaHa then married Byul in 2012, and they have two sons and a daughter. Meanwhile, Ahn Hye-kyung married drama ‘Vincenzo’ filming director Song Yo-hoon last year. While HaHa and Byul may wish for a reunion broadcast with Ahn Hye-kyung, it could be an uncomfortable topic for newlywed Ahn Hye-kyung and her husband. Bringing up her name without mutual agreement was seen as disrespectful.
On the same day, Ahn Hye-kyung shared promotional shots and gifts from acquaintances for the 10th-anniversary performance of the play “We are Family,” which runs from the 16th to the 27th at Studio Blue in Jongno-gu, Seoul, with the message, “I’ll do well.”
