Netmarble Cultural Foundation Successfully Concludes the ‘1st Game Communication Forum’

Netmarble Cultural Foundation announced on the 21st that it successfully concluded the “1st Game Communication Forum” of the Netmarble Game Communication School held at G Tower, according to reporter Kim Ga-eun from Edaily.

The Netmarble Game Communication School initiative began in 2016 to promote healthy family game culture by educating elementary school students and their parents nationwide about the characteristics and usage of games, facilitating family communication.

The first forum saw the participation of around 100 elementary school children and parents. Professor Jeong Ui-jun from the Department of Cultural Contents at Konkuk University delivered a lecture on “Finding Solutions in Game Spaces and Communication Over-immersion in the Metaverse and AI Era.”

Professor Jeong highlighted, “While digital proficiency has become essential for future survival in the AI-Metaverse era, issues such as sociability, concentration, and over-immersion are causing controversy. The over-immersion problem of children in the new ‘Game 3.0’ era can be addressed through continuous communication between parents and children and consistent parenting attitudes.”

The subsequent collaborative Game Communication School involved 16 families. Under the guidance of a professional instructor, they participated in an experiential program focused on “Sharing Emotions through Games,” learning about emotional expression and empathy. Participants practiced sharing and empathizing with each other’s honest thoughts and emotions through this endeavor.

Meanwhile, the Netmarble Cultural Foundation, launched in 2018 to broaden the value of healthy game culture and cultivate future creative talents and a culture of sharing, conducts various specialized social contribution activities centered on three areas: ‘Creating Culture,’ ‘Nurturing Talent,’ and ‘Sharing Hearts.’
