Discharged After 17 Months… “Thanks to the Fans, I Finished Well”
Jin, Who Was Discharged First, Offers Congratulations and Flowers
On the 17th, J-Hope from the group BTS was discharged from the military.
J-Hope left the 36th Infantry Division’s training camp in Wonju, Gangwon Province, where he greeted reporters with a bright smile. He saluted the cameras and said, “Thanks to the fans, I was able to finish my military service healthily and safely.”
He added, “During the 1 year and 6 months I served as an instructor, I went on numerous marches. I want to thank the citizens of Wonju who greeted and cheered for the soldiers during those times. It was very touching.”
J-Hope also called for support and interest in the soldiers’ military service. He expressed, “I’ve realized that many people work hard to protect the country. If we could give these people even more attention and love, it would mean a lot.”
Lastly, he shouted, “Thank you for the tremendous support, encouragement, and love. I was discharged healthily, salute.”
Jin, the eldest member of BTS who completed his service earlier, came to Wonju to congratulate J-Hope on his discharge. Holding a large bouquet, Jin hugged J-Hope, expressing his delight.
When J-Hope jokingly asked reporters to take nice photos, Jin teased, “Are you a celebrity? What’s that about?” He even knelt down to hold up a microphone for J-Hope.
J-Hope, who was the second BTS member to enlist in April last year, served as an instructor after completing his basic military training at the 36th Infantry Division.
With J-Hope and Jin now discharged, all the other BTS members are currently fulfilling their military duties. RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are serving actively, while Suga is working as a social service agent.
