**Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office, Non-Prosecution for Kim’s Wife and Mother Choi Eun-soon**
The prosecution has decided not to indict Kim Geon-hee, who faced allegations of conspiracy and aiding stock price manipulation related to Deutsche Motors.
The 2nd Anti-Corruption Investigation Division of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office, headed by Chief Prosecutor Choi Jae-hoon, announced on the 17th that they have determined there is “no charge” on Kim’s violation of the Capital Markets Act. Kim’s mother, Choi Eun-soon, was also not indicted.
The prosecution concluded that Kim merely entrusted account management to former Deutsche Motors chairman Kwon Oh-soo to earn profits and was unaware of any stock manipulation activities.
Kim was accused of being a financial backer or “Jeonju” in the alleged organized stock manipulation activities carried out by Kwon and others from 2009 to 2012.
The prosecution has reached this non-indictment conclusion four and a half years after Kim was reported to them by the Open Democratic Party in April 2020.
