A man in his 50s who allegedly killed an acquaintance on his way to work with a weapon has been apprehended by the police. Gwangju Seobu Police Station announced on the 9th that Mr. A has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is under investigation.
According to the police, Mr. A is accused of fatally attacking Mr. B, who was leaving his house to go to work in an apartment in Pungam-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju, around 7:30 a.m. on the same day. It was reported that Mr. A had prepared the weapon in advance and waited in the apartment where Mr. B resided.
Mr. B suffered serious injuries to his neck and died at the scene. The weapon used in the incident was found wrapped in plastic on the emergency staircase of the apartment. After receiving a report that a resident had collapsed in front of the apartment elevator bleeding, the police identified and arrested Mr. A in a parking lot of an apartment in Buk-gu, Gwangju, after about 3 hours and 25 minutes of tracking. The police are currently investigating the exact motive behind the crime.
